Tomorrow is a day I look forward to all year long…it is opening day for the baseball season! There is something magical about the game of baseball. No other sport has the amazing history, characters, and stories like those associated with our national pastime. That’s part of why baseball has become the subject of so many movies. Therefore, I am thrilled to present the Big League Blogathon! For the next week we’ll be celebrating baseball as presented through the art of film.
I have a great team of film bloggers who will be sharing posts about baseball in the movies. Visit Forgotten Films each day for links to a new selection of posts. Be sure to visit them all throughout the week. I’ll also be posting several reviews of forgotten baseball films. To start the series, though, I give you the words of James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh… people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
Hooray for the start of baseball season! It felt like a long time coming this year.
Looking forward to the blogathon!
is it too late to join in?? I already reviewed 3 baseball movies so far this week and have 3 more in the pipeline (so far)

Hello Todd:
A quick update on the blogathon… I had to work today, so I’m running a bit behind on my “Battlefield Baseball” post. I hope to have it ready by tomorrow morning. Sporry about the delay.
Regarding the podcast, my Skype account is Barry.Polin
Thanks!
